MID SEPTEMBER FAVOURITES

What have I been loving the most recently?

Heya beauties! It has been a while since I have done a current favourites post… the last time being May in fact so i thought it was time to do another! I definitely want to do monthly favourite posts as each month you do always find something new to love and i would love to share it all with you – maybe they could be your favourites too! This post isn’t purely beauty, it does have a lot of different items so if you are interested in my current go-to things, keep reading…

Netflix…

Since moving house rowan and I haven’t bothered to get live television, meaning sky or virgin etc as its not something we are overly fussed about. Since we have moved all we’ve seemed to have on the T.V. Is Netflix, where we’ve both managed to get into series like ‘Atypical’ and ‘American horror story’. For £8 a month we can watch endless series and films and there is always a new series being released which tend to be American ones (which are always the best!). Our current watch is the new series of AHS and our next watch I think will be ‘Confession tapes’! I do love a bit of Netflix, comment below any series you would recommend for me to watch, I’m open to anything and would love to try something new!

Bath and Body Works…

Bath and Body Works have always caught my eye when it comes to skincare, and especially candles. It is so hard to get hold of Bath and Body Works products in the UK and ordering from America always puts me off, who would want customs? But to be honest, it would totally be worth it anyways. Recently I’ve found a Facebook group called ‘Bath and Body Works Fans UK’ which people sell all kinds of products from candles to oil burners and pocket bacs (these are also amazing!). I now tend to use this Facebook page as its all trusted sellers and you usually pay through PayPal which is one of the safest options!

‘Rose 3 Wick Candle’

I picked this candle because simply of the rose gold lid and details on the jar, rose gold is so popular now-a-days and it will always be something people love! Not to mention the stunning packaging, but the smell of this, oh my… it is gorgeous. It smells like fresh cut roses but its not overpowering, its literally just right! There are a few more scents in this collection with the rose gold lids which eventually I would love to have including Eucalyptus and Lavender. All floral, relaxing scents. These retail for $24.50 and you can find the full range here.

Other Bath and Body Works favourites…

The Pocketbacs and Hand Cream’s are probably a product I will always have on me, whether it be my handbag or work bag they are something I carry everywhere and have an endless supply. I love all the different scents of these products you can get especially when you can get a matching set of hand cream and gel! My current favourites are ‘Fiji White Sands’ hand cream and  ‘Aloe-Ha’ hand sanitizer. They also make perfect gifts and can be tailored to anyone’s taste as there is such a wide variety. Each hand cream is retailed for $4 which works out to be just under £3! BARGAIN (especially when you can get them on a UK site!) A Pocketbac is retailed for $5.50 which is around £4 and they seem to last forever! is Alongside the Pocketbacs you can buy holders, which are super cute and am yet to purchase one! The Halloween edition looks adorable! You can see the holder variety here. I will link below where you can find these Bath and Body work items!

All Nighter…

Urban Decay never fail when producing high quality make up and when they released a setting spray I HAD to try it. My oily skin has been an issue for a long time now and it means makeup just slides around my face like a mess. This setting spray is amazing for keeping my makeup in place for most part of the day (I still do have to powder) and I find my makeup isn’t sliding around as much either. For the price you do get a lot of use out of it.. I’ve nearly run out.. sad face! 🙁  but for £23.50 it is definitely worth that high end price tag. It has an unusual smell to it but its one I quite like! This setting spray comes in a travel size bottle too which is priced at £10 and you get 30ml as apposed to 118ml in a full size bottle. My next purchase will be the ‘De-Slick’ setting spray which is meant to be even better for oily skin so we shall see how it compares! If you want to purchase this item you can find it on the Urban Decay website, or at Debenhams and House of Fraser.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 8…

I have had my Instax Mini now for a year or so and it’s something ill never get rid of (unless it breaks of course) because one – its super cute, two – it lets you take Polaroid photos anywhere and three – just look at how amazing it is! even though mine does need a good clean. There isn’t a zoom option on the camera and you look through a view finder but there are 4 settings on the lens. These 4 settings tell you what mode to have it on depending on the environment your taking photos so it can alter how bright or dark the Polaroids come out! Nifty. I like how small it is which makes it easy to carry around in your bag and for holidays, but I like taking it out for special occasions like birthdays and family and friends time so eventually with all the Polaroids I have I would love to make a scrapbook album! You have to buy the film separately but you do usually get a starter pack with the camera itself – you can buy it online at many stores including Amazon, Currys, Argos. Rowan brought mine from Amazon in baby pink (they do white, blue, yellow.. all sorts!) You can buy decorative Polaroids which cover the white border so you can have rainbow Polaroids, or stars etc – these can be a little pricey or a cheaper alternative you can buy stickers to cover the borders. I love my Instax, I hope you do too!

Big Happy Planner…

Lastly, my Happy Planner. Not so long ago I did a post on my recent purchase to help keep me organised.. my Mini Happy Planner. I love my Mini happy planner so much, its a perfect fit in my handbag for every day use so I decided to purchase the ‘Big’ planner to keep at home. This size difference is pretty huge with the mini being – 4.5″ x 7″ and the big – 9″ x 11.25″. You can read my post on my Mini Happy Planner here! I would love for you to take a look. What I love about my Big happy planner is the amount of room I have to plan, because obviously you don’t just plan.. you decorate each page to make it your own! I usually stick to a specific colour per week/month and add in different stickers to suit the season. Next month my planner will be full of pumpkins and leaves! The amount of room on each page gives me the freedom to express myself through colours and stickers and page inserts to really make my planner my own. Each person has a different perspective on what they like to see visually so a Happy Planner Big (or classic) lets you do this. No one planner will be the same. You can see my September cover page below! The rose gold assets are stunning on the tap and the quote. On each monthly cover page you will have an little inspirational quote which I think is a lovely idea. These planners are usually 12-18 months so you will not need to buy them often! I purchased mine from Hey Little Magpie – I only ever use this site now for my planners and accessories, you can earn points for money off your next orders and the delivery time is super quick! You can find this specific planner here. Its currently on sale with £10 off so shop quick! Even though its starts in July 2017 you can take the previous months out and start in September/October! I would highly recommend these planners and I wouldn’t buy anything different – Each year is a new planner from Happy Planner!

I’ve been trying new background to the usual white, fur etc and i’m not 100% sure how I feel on it! Let me know in the comments of what you think?

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this, let me know if you’ve tried any of these products yourself and your thoughts on them! Speak to you soon 💜

Love Jess xxx

I’m loving your photography in this post, Jess! You’ve absolutely nailed it! I couldn’t agree with you more about Netflix, I’d have to pay for a TV lisence to watch live TV on my laptop at uni but considering I already have a Netflix subscription, it makes no sense to pay for both when there are soooo many shows and films on Netflix! Your Happy Planner sounds just wonderful, I really want to get my hands on one!
